AFRICA INSPIRED
Olori was inspired by the beautiful cultural attires of the Yoruba people in Nigeria.
.
Adire, the traditional African textile from which the Teniola Totes is made, is traditionally hand-dyed by the Egba people of South-Western Nigeria.
By incorporating African fabric into modern design, our mission is to invite people to experience the beauty of African cultures, beginning with aso-oke, and now, Adire.
Adire means “tie and dye;” the name refers to the production process. This fabric is most commonly made in Ogun State of Nigeria by the Egba people. Using various resist-dyeing methods, artisans create bold and beautiful patterns on fabric.
Like Aso-oke, Adire textiles are a means to convey the rich Yoruba cultural heritage to the world.
